It's awards season once again, and Los Angeles just goes crazy for about two months. If you don't live here, picture Easter, Christmas, 4th of July, Hanukkah, and most other holidays rolled into one, and spread out through six to eight weeks, and you get an idea of how important this is for the people who live here.
The media goes into it big time, with all local publications, web sites, blogs, delving into it as if it was the story of the century. Here, it is certainly the story of the year...
I get into it myself. I'm a movie fanatic, and watch almost everything out there, from stupid Hollywood comedies to very serious documentaries and foreign movies. My preference is usually for the so-called "independent" film circuit, and I tend to devour every movie done out of the big studio system that gets a chance of being distributed to local theaters.
